Wow, What a great parade. Navarre Beach enjoyed not only record participation
and attendance at the 2013 Navarre Beach Mardi Gras Parade but the best
weather in memory. The Krewe was thrilled at the number of entries this
year including for the first but not last time Pensacola's own Krewe
of Lafitte. And we were so happy to see our sisters from Milton - The
Krewe of Silver Slippers return. Spring-like weather brought out spectators
in record numbers this year.
The
Navarre Krewe of Jesters would like to thank the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's
Office, the Community Emergency Response Team, the Navarre Beach Fire
Department, the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, The Club at
Hidden Creek, and the Golf Depot of Fort Walton Beach, along with many
others that helped make this the best parade ever. We would also like
to thank Doug and Jolene Depew, Pat and Kathy Schulte, and Donna and
Chuck Howard for the use of their convertibles for our royalty and Juana's
Pagotas for the great after parade party.
Mark your calendars now for 22 February 2014 when the Navarre Krewe
of Jesters will host the 28th annual Navarre Beach Mardi Gras Parade
on the Island.
The Overall Best Entry in this year's parade was awarded to the Krewe
of Lafitte. The best Community Entry was our friends from Milton, the
Krewe of Silver Slippers.
